HEIC offers efficient phone-photo storage, but browser and server image libraries do not support it uniformly. A converter can accept HEIC only when its full decoding pipeline understands the format.

The most compatible route is to export a corrected JPEG copy before building the PDF.

Check support before a large batch

Try one representative HEIC photo. If the picker rejects it or no preview appears, create JPEG copies on the phone or computer rather than renaming the extension.

Preserve orientation and detail

Open each image after export to confirm rotation and resolution. Use the original-quality JPEG option when text or document details matter.

  • Do not screenshot the photo as a conversion shortcut.
  • Keep the original HEIC files.
  • Review portrait and landscape pages separately.

Build and inspect the PDF

Order the JPEG copies, convert them and open every page in the downloaded PDF. Compress only after confirming the text and fine edges remain clear.
